What we built
Instant Calorie Calculator is a free online calorie calculator for anyone who wants clear, realistic daily calorie targets. Enter your age, gender, height, weight, and activity level, and the tool instantly calculates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), three weight-loss tiers, three weight-gain tiers, a gram-specific macronutrient split, and a 7-day zigzag calorie-cycling schedule — plus a built-in energy unit converter for kcal, cal, kJ, and joules.
Everything runs locally in your browser. There are no accounts, no paywalls, and no locked features: the calorie calculator free experience is the full experience.
Why we built it
Most calorie tools give you a single number and stop — or hide macros, timelines, and cycling plans behind a signup wall. We wanted the best online calorie calculator to cover the whole workflow instead: honest maintenance estimates, sustainable deficits for fat loss, lean surpluses for muscle gain, protein-first macro presets, and refeed-style zigzag days that keep training performance and hunger under control. If you are dieting, bulking, or simply eating at maintenance, one page should answer "how much should I eat?" completely.
The science behind the numbers
Our estimates use peer-reviewed BMR equations: Mifflin-St Jeor (the clinical gold standard for most adults), the revised Harris-Benedict equation, and Katch-McArdle for lean, athletic users who know their body-fat percentage. Activity multipliers convert BMR into TDEE, and goal tiers apply evidence-based deficits (−250 to −1,000 kcal) and surpluses (+250 to +1,000 kcal). You can read the full methodology in our formulas and science guide.

An honest note
Our calculator gives educational estimates, not medical advice. Very-low-calorie diets, pregnancy, eating disorders, thyroid conditions, and competitive weight cuts deserve guidance from a physician or registered dietitian. Read our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for the full details.
